Whole lesson. The first lesson of the year delivered to Y12. It gives an outline of the course, equipment and attitude checklist. Then moves on the origins of psychology, introspection and psychology as science with evaluation. Mini whiteboard (ABCD/TRUE-FALSE Plenary to check progress). - I also hand out the Y12 content checklist at this point and ask them to tick of Wundt at the end.

First full lesson with Y12 - Goes through the course layout. Introduces Wundt, introspection and the emergence of psychology as a scientific subject. Students then create an obituary column or speech to be read at Wundt's funeral. Mini whiteboard plenary (ABCD, TRUE/FALSE) to check progress.

Approx 3 lessons. Introduce them to the exams awaiting them at the end of the year. Recap Darwin and evolutionary theory, concepts of anisogamy, sexual selection theory (inter and intra). A booklet that covers all of the knowledge and evaluation for Y13 Bio-rhythms AQA Psychology. Circadian Ultradian Infradian Exogenous Zeitgebers and Endogenous Pacemakers Each section contains content for students to read and questions for them to answer to assess their understanding. I have tried to word this in way that is accessible but still challenges students. Content goes above and beyond the textbook, so really good for stretch and challenge. Can be used in class, as revision or flipped learning. Approx 4-8h of lesson time.

A work booklet that covers the four definitions of abnormality (statistical infrequency, deviation from social norms, failure to function, deviation from ideal mental health). Each page has activities and also includes evaluation. Answer booklet for teacher. Suitable for AS and A2 can be completed in lesson or as homework. Will take students approx 2 hours to complete. Powerpoint slides going through the main features of the cognitive and biological approach and Wundt's contribution to psychology. These were made for last revision - lecture style lessons. They would make good starting points when planning lessons as most of the content is on there. You would need to add little activities/mini plenaries or video clips etc, and evaluation will need to be added in more detail if these were to become full lessons

A booklet to accompany the teaching of the social influence unit of AQA psychology. Includes specification checklist for students to monitor progress through the course. This lesson goes through key concepts associated with Humansim (and evaluation) and also the free will debate. Includes fun activities where students recreate the hierarchy of needs. A3 sheet for students to structure their notes.

I split the spec into the different units and made a checklist for students use. They can either tick as they move through the course or use it at the end of AS to help inform their revision or if they have missed lessons. Also useful to help inform teacher planning.
