This is an interactive resource based on the old unit 3 specification. There are interactive questions, group tasks and hot key words built into it. The presentation can be used by both teacher and student if put on a public drive.

Paper Aeroplane Challenge!

Paper Aeroplane Challenge!

(0)
An active learning based lesson which students actually make paper aeroplanes and have to consider things like quality and productivity. Students should work in groups to produce the aeroplanes under a strict time limit - there needs to be a no flying rule and breaking of that rule will result in a £100 fine - The teacher is the only one with a pilots licence! Good for teaching topics that come under Total Quality Management.
OCR H567 A level Psychology Approaches & Perspectives revision cards

OCR H567 A level Psychology Approaches & Perspectives revision cards

(0)
These revision cards include the 5 approaches and 2 perspectives that come under the OCR A level psychology course. On the cards are the main assumptions/principles, plus the strengths and weaknesses which students must know for Section B and C of the Component 2 paper. With so much content to remember including 35 separate studies, background studies, debates, research methods and other things I have found these cards to be really useful as the information is condensed down allowing for better memory retention by students. They complement the 10 AS core Studies cards I've put on and will be adding the 10 A2 Core studies shortly along with the 15 A2 main study cards for Mental Health, Criminal Psychology and Child Psychology.

Who want to be a Business Studies millionaire!

Its used in the classroom for individual and team quizzes. With the team quiz, students are given laminated cards to hold up in class. Students can also access it on their own computer if you have it installed on a shared space. It can also be used in lesson starters and plenaries. Very good for teaching and testing students business studies knowledge. Creates excitement in lessons, particularly if students are put in teams

Correlation - Age & Beauty - Is there a correlation?

(0)
I've used this PowerPoint with students to get them interested in Correlation which is quite a dry topic in Psychology - Students really respond to the celebrity pictures and opens up interesting discussions between students. More importantly it ensures they get what positive and negative correlation is but with the last slide they have to plot their own graph as they may have to do in the exam. Update -this has been updated with graphs and definitions from the original free resource I put on here.

OCR H567 Psychology A level 10 AS Core Study revision cards

These are the 10 Core Studies on the new specification. I've condensed the information down for students to help with memory retention. These proved to be very useful for the old specification when I made some for my students. Students can cut these out and write on the evaluation section.

Mobile phone mast at your school (stakeholders)- PSHE Newspaper template

This is a new lesson which I've done with a few groups and has proved to be very effective. The pupils need to read the article and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of having a mobile phone mast erected at their school, but halfway through the lesson it is advisable to change students perspective by telling them they have to represent different stakeholder groups e.g. one group could be students, another the 3G Management team. Good for teaching stakeholders.

Nuclear College newspaper template (Pressure groups/ Stakeholders)

This is a lesson which I've done with a few groups and it is easily adaptable to any school. The pupils need to read the article and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of having a nuclear plant next to their school, but halfway through the lesson it is advisable to change students perspective by telling them they have to represent different stakeholder groups. It has worked extremely well in the past and some students have actually thought the Nuclear plant was a genuine proposal, so it's a good idea to make it clear that it isn't true at the end of your lesson.
