The purpose of this resource is to practice some basic statistical skills whilst exploring the real-world maths question “Is the Leave result truly the will of the people? “ There are over 160 statistical charts and tables which may be used for the revision of: • Basic arithmetic. • Calculating percentages. • Mean, Median, Mode and Range • Reading and creating 5 figure summaries and boxplots. • Reading and creating bar charts and dot plots. • Reading tables. • Making comparisons and drawing conclusions. • Calculating probabilities. How the resource is used is purely up to the teacher. It could be used solely for revision, or as a source of discussion for cross curricular activities. The data could be displayed or printed for individual revision; delivered via overhead projector to promote whole class or group critical thinking, discussion and communication; set out on work stations around the classroom for working as collaborative groups or pairs; referred to as part of a cross curricular investigation; set as a project to help enhance creativity or as a match up game.
