These cards have been designed to support children with developing their vocabulary, along with supporting spelling and creative writing.
The cards are roughly A5 in size when printed and cut out. The size can be changed by changing the page sizing and the amount of space left around the card when cutting and laminating.
The cards include commonverbs, adjectives and abstract nouns such as happy, sad, mad, big, small, walked, and said. The cards then include a selection of different synonyms to help children become more specific with their meanings and to allow them to create more imaginative pieces of writing.
The cards have a faint yellow as their background colour, as research has shown that children with dyslexia benefit from having a background that isn’t white, and green and red colours could affect children who have colour blindness.
These cards are designed with the intention of being cut out, laminated and placed on a ring in order for the children to flick through them to find the word they want to change, however you can use them or display them any way you like!
These colour splat vocabulary mats are designed to help children use more interesting vocabulary when writing creatively.
They come with the root colour and 4-6 different adjectives surrounding it in order to give children a better idea of different words to use.
They are A4 in size but can be enlarged, and are designed to be laminated and used as place mats, however they can be displayed and used any way you like!
The colours on these mats are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, brown, black and white.
