The lesson comes complete with a Brainstorming section, a Thesis Statement development component, and an Argumentative Writing Tutorial. ******************** CLICK HERE TO BUY THE BUNDLE WITH 76 LESSONS: Literature Prompts Bundle ******************** This is an Argumentative Essay Prompt “Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night” is a villanelle. A villanelle is a 19-line poem with five tercets (3-line stanzas) followed by a sixth stanza of four lines. A villanelle contains two refrains, which alternate. In "Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night," the poem's title and "Rage against the dying of the light" are each repeated several times. Not only does this dramatically state one of the poem's themes — to fight and struggle even when loss seems inevitable—but it shows the imploring nature of the poem's speaker's tone as he begs his father to stay alive as long as possible. In the poem, the two refrains give the poem its power and its emotion. Why do you believe Dylan Thomas choose this form? Provide specific examples from the text as evidence to support your belief. ******************** This Argumentative / Argument Writing Prompt lesson comes complete with: Lesson Plan which includes: • Common Core State Standards Indicated on Lesson Plan • Instructional Focus • Instructional Procedures for Writing Lesson • Objectives/Goals • Direct Instruction • Guided Practice • Enrichment • Differentiation • ESE Strategies • ELL Strategies • I Can Statement • Essential Question Student Worksheet includes: • Prompt • Rubric • Brainstorming Section • Thesis Statement Development • How to Write an Argumentative Essay Tutorial Presentation includes: • Introduction slide with prompt (interactive for students to identify key vocabulary) • Brainstorming slide (interactive for students to list ideas) • Standard and Implied Thesis Development Slides • How to Write an Argumentative Essay Tutorial • Checklist slide ******************** If you enjoy this product, please FOLLOW MY STORE and don't forget to LEAVE FEEDBACK!
