This lesson focuses on the issues surrounding shark fin soup, there is a question sheet to accompany the Gordon Ramsey documentary on it (easily found on YouTube) following this there are two tasks both with mark schemes and set instruction; making a poster writing a letter to restaurants urging them to take it off their menu. To teach everything in this lesson it should take 3-6 lessons depending on which tasks and the age/ ability of your class.

This lesson investigates Nike as a case study of globalisation focusing on how it has become so big, positives and negatives. One task focuses on IT so students need access to ICT but this activity can be skipped.

A lesson and activities exploring the reasons for UK seaside town tourism decline through YouTube and Text comprehnsions followed by a creative activity where students create a plan to rejuvenate a town. This lesson has Morecambe town related information (map & key facts) but can easily e adapted to other similar towns.

Using Myanmar as an example case study and evaluating whether it should become a tourism hot spot based on different stake holders, students work in groups to evaluate whether their given stakeholder is in favour or against tourism and reasons why, they then share this with the class to add to a sheet that covers all stakeholders opinions. Finally, students make their own mind up and answer the enquiry question.

This takes 2-3 lesson and looks at types of weathering and factors that affect the rate of weathering.

This lesson investigates the use of water in farming. It includes an analysis of table data regarding water usage per crop, growing crops in the desert, problems with growing crops in the desert, a comprehension task based on a reading activity and YouTube link on why the Aral Sea has shrunk and finally solutions to water based problems in which students have to provide a solution - a solution sheet is there to support too. This will take 2 periods.

This ;lesson investigates the causes of deforestation more generally then focuses on specific reasons with facts about the deforestation in Thailand, it then looks at the facts and finally the solutions. This would take 2-3 lessons.

This lesson investigates the benefits of eco-tourism to India but also the problems it causes uses a real story of a man eating tiger. Students carry out a carousel activity to find out different people’s views on the tiger and then come to a conclusion in regards to what the solution should be. this lesson should take 2 periods.

This lesson investigates the impact of our diet. It starts with a video of Amazonian deforestation and the ‘fishbone’ effect, students then complete a gap fill activity on how agriculture is affecting the environment, students then answer questions relating the recent forest fires in California to the increase in almond farming, using graphs students compare the effects of various milks then analyse their diet; completing a table using a BBC diet calculator. Finally students explain how sustainable their diet is and what changes they could make to ensure it is more sustainable.

This lesson should take at least 2 lessons and looks Dharavi, the slum where Slumdog Millionaire was filmed and set in. The lesson investigates push and pull factors involved in rural to urban migration, the results of this, the conditions in a slum and then students research the history of Dharavi to produce a storyboard. the 2nd part to the lesson looks at how Dharavi can be improved.
