These revision activities are for Higher GCSE 9 -1. Students work through the questions on the sheet to revise facts and procedures for a range of topics. There are four separate workouts, each should take 15 - 30 minutes. Answers are provided. If you find any errors please let me know. For a similar but longer version of this task, designed for a one hour revision lesson, visit this link: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/higher-gcse-revision-workout-calculator-11630772

Hope these are helpful. If you spot an error please let me know (@mathsjem).

Introduction to Writing Algebraically
mrsmorgan1mrsmorgan1

Introduction to Writing Algebraically

(9)
Based on an exercise I spotted in an antique maths textbook, this exercise is designed to build confidence in writing algebraically. Students are presented with pairs of questions: in each pair, one question involves numbers, and the equivalent question involves algebra. The idea is that if they know how to do it with numbers, then they just do the same thing with the algebra. This should be an accessible introduction to algebra, drawing on students’ existing skills. An editable version is provided, and answers are included.
Set notation for inequalities (new GCSE)
mrsmorgan1mrsmorgan1

Set notation for inequalities (new GCSE)

(23)
The new maths GCSE specification states that students will have to represent inequalities using set notation. This straightforward worksheet is for students to practise using number lines and set notation interchangeably. Answers are provided. Support and resources for teaching topics in the new GCSE are available on my website resourceaholic.com.

Density questions for maths GCSE

(18)
This is a simple editable worksheet containing seven GCSE questions on density (including answers) taken from Edexcel Linked Pair papers. There's 29 marks worth of questions so this should take students 20 - 30 minutes to complete (useful for classwork or homework).
Spot the Mistake: GCSE Maths Revision

Spot the Mistake: GCSE Maths Revision

(11)
This is a set of 10 questions for Higher tier and 10 questions for Foundation tier. In each case all but one question has been answered incorrectly. Pupils have to identify and correct the mistakes. The questions are taken from AQA Legacy Papers.
C1 Revision Clock
mrsmorgan1mrsmorgan1

C1 Revision Clock

(13)
Each student is given 12 questions (on A4) and a clock face (on A3). Students write their workings and answers in each section of the clock. Every 5 minutes or so students should be moving on to the next question/section. If all goes to plan they complete all 12 questions in a one hour lesson. This revision activity allows students to practise working under timed conditions and keeps them on task and engaged throughout the revision lesson. I have made two versions, both with answers. In the first version, the questions are taken from old practice papers and are fairly straightforward. Some of my students got through these questions in 30 - 40 minutes. In the second version, the questions are much more challenging. These questions are taken from IYGB papers.
Speed Distance Time Homework

Speed Distance Time Homework

(13)
This is a speed Pret homework. In Pret homeworks, pupils practise, recall, extend and think. These homeworks are typically followed in class with spelling or memory tests and discussions about research findings. For an editable version of this homework and Pret homeworks for many more topics, see http://prethomework.weebly.com/.
Algebraic Function Machines
mrsmorgan1mrsmorgan1

Algebraic Function Machines

(9)
This is based on a resource by Stacy Brookes, but adapted so that it’s suitable for pupils who have just been introduced to algebraic notation for the first time. I used it with a mixed attainment Year 7 class in their second lesson on algebra. We’d already looked at numerical function machines. The intention was that they’d practise basic algebraic notation such as 3 x a = 3a. I went through question 1 while they filled it in, then they completed the rest of the sheet independently.
Year 12 Maths Entry Assessment
mrsmorgan1mrsmorgan1

Year 12 Maths Entry Assessment

(12)
This assessment tests basic pre-requisite maths skills on entry to A level. It's editable so if you like the format but don't like the questions, feel free to change them! The idea is to give this 15 minute test in the first maths lesson of Year 12 in order to identify any students who need immediate intervention. The intervention sessions can then be tailored to specific skills eg a session on expanding brackets, and a separate session on solving equations. This assessment is print-friendly (one side of A4) and quick to mark. Teachers can complete the mini-feedback sheet for each student and staple it to their assessment, with details of upcoming intervention sessions.

I printed onto two sheets of A3 (stapled) but they would work on A4 too. Answers are provided. Editable versions are provided in case you want to change some questions to suit the level of your students. Some images/questions are borrowed from CIMT/TRoL. Hope these are helpful. If you spot an error please let me know (@mathsjem).
Edexcel S1 Revision Cards
mrsmorgan1mrsmorgan1

Edexcel S1 Revision Cards

(15)
These S1 revision cards can be used as an individual or class activity. Individuals can ask friends/relatives to test them using these cards. For use in class, hand out one laminated card per pupil. They circulate round the class, pairing up to ask and answer their questions, then swapping cards and pairing up with someone else. It's a nice active revision lesson. Please do let me know if I&'ve made any errors on these cards.
'Correct Answer Only' A Level Maths Revision
mrsmorgan1mrsmorgan1

'Correct Answer Only' A Level Maths Revision

(15)
Based on an idea by Stuart Price (@sxpmaths), these ‘Correct Answer Only’ activities are for C1, C2, C3 and C4. They are designed for the Edexcel specification but use past OCR exam questions. Students work on their own to complete 8 questions, then submit their final answers for marking. They simply get a tick or cross for each answer and then have to re-try anything they get wrong. These typically take a good 30 - 45 minutes to complete and are cheap to print (one A4 sheet per student) so perfect for A level revision.
New AS Maths: Key Facts Quiz (Pure)

New AS Maths: Key Facts Quiz (Pure)

(13)
I have adapted my old C1/C2 quizzes to make a quiz suitable for the new AS maths pure content. This works well as a starter activity in a revision lesson. Alternatively students can use this quiz to test themselves at home. Statistics version here: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/new-as-maths-key-facts-quiz-statistics-11917738
