Some posters made using Canva which might be nice displayed in the girls’ locker area or perhaps girls’ bathrooms.
The posters have quotes from strong female figures.
CCEA GCSE Literature: Study of Poetry: Love and Death Anthology.
Compilation of the poems, their lists, AOs, sample intro and a useful compare and contrast grid, along with a list of potential questions.
Hope this helps.
Two sample essay plans to help guide students towards the points they may wish to make if the following questions come up:
Mitch as a Victim
Stanley: more victim than villain?
This is a compilation of a few KS3 resources I have made to help students tackle the presentational aspect of media texts. It has been made with a view to preparing KS3 students for the new CCEA GCSE: Reading to access media texts.
It focuses on Camera Angles, Shot Types and Camera Movements.
It could be used for a Media class, reading film, Film Studies or indeed for the GCSE CCEA spec.
Hopefully you find this useful!
:)
This a self-assessment form for students to fill in, based on The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas. However, it can easily be adapted to suit other written tasks.
It is for KS3 students and the aim is that they read the feedback comments / annotation on their work and tick accordingly. They then review how many Yes/No ticks they have and set themselves a target based on what they have identified as their weaknesses.
Used with a low ability Year 9 Class in conjunction with a Fantasy Landscapes Unit.
Asks the student to identify verbs, adjectives and adverbs and explain what impact they have.
A travel writing reading comprehension and writing exercise.
I used this with a Year 9 class who had been studying travel writing to help them practise for their ‘Bill Bryson: A walk in the woods’ comprehension and their ‘creative’ responses where they write their own piece of non-fiction travel writing in the form of a travelogue.
The following resource is a PowerPoint my A Level students have made that analyses Robert Frost's 'Gathering Leaves'
I use it for the CCEA specification: The Study of Poetry 1900-Present and it contains notes on: language and imagery, rhyme, rhythm, structure, tone, speaker, analysis of title, context etc.
Hopefully you find this useful.
Thanks
*NOTE: When I upload more analytical videos/presentations I will be compiling them into a Bundle so it is cheaper for you to purchase!
The following resource is a video I have made that analyses Robert Frost's 'Going for Water'
I use it for the CCEA specification: The Study of Poetry 1900-Present and it contains notes on: language and imagery, rhyme, rhythm, structure, tone, speaker, analysis of title, context etc.
I have uploaded it in MP4.
I generally ask students to analyse the poem using question prompts in class and then send them home to watch the videos to ensure I am expedient with my time management. It also ensures students can discuss the poem to understand it fully during class time and then get the thorough analysis required at home.
Hopefully you find this useful.
Thanks
