This resource was used as part of a phonics session. It is fab to use in the classroom and for online teaching as it so so engaging. There are 2 parts- the animated CVC word building activity with sound which shows a range of CVC words. This PowerPoint activity focuses on blending CVC words. On each slide as each letter appears students say the sound it makes. As the car drives past blend and say the word the sounds make. On the next slide check the picture to see if you were correct. The car moves to indicate for the students to blend the words. The high frequency word building task- The students can move the letters to the word box to build the word. The teacher can cover the high frequency words with a post it note animation of the slide.

Students will start the lesson with a figurative language techniques quiz- An example is displayed and support boxes are provided at the bottom. Student will then be introduced to the concept of persuasive language devices using DAFOREST and again this is followed by a quick quiz to check progress. Students are then given an opportunity to apply their new learning by creating a persuasive paragraph. I have included samples of levelled work so that students can see what a C grade answer looks like for example.
