This introductory worksheet will help learners understand the verbs POUVOIR, DEVOIR and VOULOIR in the first, second and third person singular in the present tense. Starting with modal verb conjugasions, the worksheet then covers some high frequency infinitives finally combining modals and infinitives in sentences. The worksheet is for beginners learning how to use modal verbs or to recap structures for GCSE.

This worksheet challenges the student to recall the conjugations for the three modal verbs VOULOIR, DEVOIR and POUVOIR and use them with high frequency infinitives to make simple questions in French. Question forms explored in the worksheet are intonation and “est-ce que” questions with modals.
