Learners are given the opportunity to calculate missing angles on a straight line, around a point and in a triangle. Once they have achieved each there is a problem involving algebra to challenge their knowledge and understanding. My year 8s loved this.

Learners play in pairs. Learners choose who goes first. Learners both answer the question. If learner 1 picks and gets it right they win. If they get it wrong and learner 2 is able to explain their answer then learner 2 wins the square. First person to connect four wins. This is a good way of promoting independence among learners and getting them to explain how they have got to their answer. Moves from basic prisms to compound prisms.
