Your students can review the use of definite and indefinite articles by colouring the answers in by using the appropriate colour code. If they are able to do this an adorable SPRING chick will appear. Students can work on their own or in center groups to complete these clip cards. Have your students count and clip the match (numeral/word) OR match (number of dots/word). Clip the clothespin on the correct answer. Print, laminate, and cut out the clip cards. You will need one clothespin per clip card. Alternately, students may use a dry erase marker and colour in their answer. The Count and clip cards help your students develop numeracy and literacy skills. Thank you for downloading this activity. I hope you and your students will enjoy this activity.

French Reading Comprehension – Où? Quand? Pourquoi?

This 11 page Spring themed booklet is easy to assemble. You can copy the book, staple, cut it in half and then it is ready for use. The booklet includes a title page “Où? Quand? Pourquoi?” Each of the remaining 10 pages includes a short passage with a matching black and white picture and three questions about the passage/short story.(“Où? Quand? Pourquoi?) The passages include a variety of reading levels. They can be used in a kindergarten class with the teacher reading the passages and questions to the students and having the students use invented spelling to write their answers. They can also be used for independent reading practice in first or second grade by letting students read the passage, read the questions, and answer the questions even if they have to look back at the passage to find the answer. In the FSL class, you can use these at the grade 4 level when discussing springtime activities. These short passages are great for guided reading groups, homework, or literacy center activities. These passages and questions can also be used as individual sheets. I hope your students enjoy them. collaboration with:Chez Galamb

This booklet is easy to assemble, just print it off, staple it and cut it in half. (I like printing off the title page on cardstock.) There are 7 reference sheets that you may want to include in the booklet (high frequency words, popular verbs, days of the week, months of the year, seasons, weather, numbers 1-100 and colours). Another sheet included in this booklet asks the student to define, write a sentence, draw a picture and find synonyms.

Trouve un(e) ami(e)-Ice breaker activity

This activity is great to get your students speaking French. Some of the vocabulary used are cognates, as for the other words I would go over the meaning with the students. I have also included a question at the bottom that the students may use to complete this speaking task. It encourages students to get to know one another while practicing their French. I would use this ice breaker with Grade 5 and up in Core French and Grade 3 and up in Immersion.
