This is an introductory lesson designed to show learners the key features of play scripts. The lesson covers the key features students need to know and finishes with a task designed to get students to write part of their own script. A practical performing lesson could follow on from this lesson where students act out parts in each others plays or lead into students writing a full play script. The lesson objectives are: 1. This Tutorial features an activity on the 'Say No To Drugs campaign', an embedded maths activity on what alcohol data is showing amongst other discussion and research style activities. By the end of the session, students will be more knowledgeable on the dangers of alcohol and drugs.

This is is a full lesson with activities which goes over in detail interview preparation, how to prepare for 'killer' questions and interview techniques to name but a few. The PowerPoint lesson resource has detailed notes in the notes field to help with delivery. There is a session plan included which can be adapted to suit your organisations paperwork. This is a whole lesson which was originally delivered over a 3 hour session but can be divided to make shorter sessions. Originally designed for Access to HE Health and Social Care but could easily be tailored to suit a range of other courses. This is three lessons (3 hours in length each depending on pace and ability of the group) worth of activities and notes for teacher-led mini tutorials. Lessons plans included which can be tweaked and copied over to your organisations paper work. This lesson aims to provide them with an awareness so they are able to answer theory questions. I then arranged for St John Ambulance to come in to deliver a basic first aid course to students to gain their certificate. This could be amended to be delivered in tutorial or detail added to make it applicable to higher level BTEC or A-Level courses. This PowerPoint contains activities on how to call 999 and what to say, DR ABC protocol, risk assessment, basic treatment of unconsciousness, burns, bleeding, fractures, anaphylaxis and choking. Their are practical activities throughout with instructions which include scenarios. You would benefit from basic first aid supplies e.g. gloves, bandages etc. CPR is not included in the lesson content due to health and safety implications and not having access to a resuscitation mannequin at the time of delivery. Teacher will need some basic prior knowledge to deliver this lesson.

This lesson introduces students or can act as a refresher for students on how to write imaginatively. Students will recap the terms: Alliteration, Simile, Metaphor and Adjectives and will use these terms to analyse examples of imaginative writing, guiding them into choosing an imaginative writing task in order to produce their own piece. The lesson objectives are: 1. To recap writing to imagine, explore and entertain 2. To consider how to approach imaginative tasks 3. To practise responding to imaginative tasks

Designed as part of an Adult Employability Skills course. This session was designed to provide students with an awareness of discrimination, equality and equal opportunities to empower them with knowledge of their rights. This resource would benefit from a powerpoint presentation which could be based on the information in the worksheet. There are student activities throughout which will be suitable for an array of learners.

This PowerPoint was designed for a full day lesson, aimed at Level 3 students. It covers types of advocacy, active participation, definitions and causes, medical and social models of disabilities. Lots of discovery learning, group work and activities which students can relate to real life contexts.

This lesson was delivered as part of a 1 hour tutorial designed to provide students with a taster of what employability skills, what are employers looking for and to encourage them to start considering what skills they already have. Features teacher prompts and student centred activities. You will need a classroom with computers and internet access for this lesson. Might work well at the start of the year for a taster of what skills students should expect to develop on whatever courses they are studying. Can be made subject specific.

A range of resources and lessons originally designed to go towards the Access to HE Study Skills unit. However, these could be ammended for other pre-university courses e.g. A-level. Activities and guidance sheets include evaluation web pages, a library visit activity focusing on library research skills, time management reflection, CV writing, SWOT analysis production and some interview focused activities.

Two full days worth of lessons which could be delivered across several weeks to suit a range of timetables. Originally designed for Level 3 students, this is a detailed presentations containing thought provoking activities for students. It could be tailored to fit several subject areas and student abilities. No teacher preparation needed but students would benefit from A3 poster for one of the activities. Content is as follows: considering the impact that an unequal society may have on mental health statuses via a group research task. This will include topics such as geographical factors, unemployment and socio-economic status. Impact of mental health discrimination and the laws/policies surrounding this-student poster activity. The second section of the powerpoint looks at social norms, the link between misconceptions of individuals with mental health conditions being criminals-leading to looking at the deviancy amplification theory. Scenarios and thought-provoking questions throughout which can be tailored dependent on student ability.
