Brexit Letter Exchange

Brexit Letter Exchange

(0)
This resource, developed on the basis of experience working with students who struggle with written English, is a humorous pair of letters (not to be taken seriously), entirely fictional, which are an exchange between the prime minister and an aggrieved northern constituent. The resource is intended for helping students practise the correction of incorrect or informal English. Both letters include contrasting informal English and much better, more formal English. The juxtaposition is very striking and makes for interesting discussion about the role of register, as well as many aspects of Brexit.
