I'm a secondary school English teacher. All the schemes of work and resources here have been tried and tested, either by myself, and/or by other teachers in my English department. The schemes of work are lesson by lesson, and are designed to be easy to use, effective and engaging. I hope you can find something here which will save you time, and which will help you deliver great lessons. Also any feedback is appreciated, so please do leave a review.

A lesson by lesson scheme of work (21 lessons in total) aimed at a high level (grammar school) Year 10. Includes 20 powerpoint presentations to accompany the lessons. The lessons plans are easy to follow, are accessible but challenging, draw upon a range of stimuli and include a wide range of activities. I created this scheme of work over the course of a summer holiday. Lots of hours went into this. I’ve used this scheme myself for the last two years, as have the other English teachers in my department. The students always enjoy the lessons.

Designed originally for the old OCR A Level Literature Specification, this powerpoint could also serve as a general example of how to read and analyse poetry at A Level. It was designed originally for, and tested on a very able group. It was used by those students primarily as an independent revision resource. The Powerpoint consists of 190 slides, covering 15 of Yeats’ poems, as well as including relevant context, modelled analysis of language, structure and form, and links to exemplar essays. The slides have been carefully designed to look attractive, and their are hyperlinks embedded to make transitions between relevant slides quick and easy.
