No prep lesson. Teach students the history of the atom then send them on a fact-finding mission around your classroom to learn atomic structure. After this they’ll learn electron structure and undertake a number of plenary tasks After a brief history of the atom students are given a worksheet and are tasked with finding information on posters that are to be placed around the classroom. After this they undertake part 2 of the lesson and learn about electron arrangement and how to draw Bohr models for the first 18 element. I've used this and previous versions dozens of times over the years and it's always been received positively.
