Aerobic respiration practical, circus activity, KS3

The aerobic respiration equation is pretty important for any biologist. Which makes it important for school students. It's not fair to say to them memorise this... so show it to them! Made in my NQT year... this lesson is a homework and activity pack which interactively shows the products of respiration. It is fun to do. It was done for an observation lesson. Obviously, read and prepare for the lesson first. But it does work. To compare respiration and combustion, use the glucose flamethrower. Or screaming jellybaby. Drawing bar charts and line graphs in science. KS3 KS4

It's your lucky day! Two lessons in one.... AND homework! Lets be honest. If you were 13 and in science... you would much rather here "It's practical day" rather than "It's graph day!" These two lessons aim to show students easily why graphs are important and how to use them to get the most marks in their exam. It even includes a practical. And a song. Follow me on @scipreproom. Don't worry. I didn't write the song. The youtuber gets all that glory.

Fully resourced lesson, including homework with handy markscheme! If the formatting has gone a bit odd it's because I have converted it from google slides to powerpoint.... but I am sure you'll be able to move things around. Enzyme reactions, Enzymes and temperature and enzymes and pH KS3 KS4

Two lessons for the price of one! All you need to do is requesition the lessons. I would recommend you give the students the sheets to read before the lesson And you make sure the school stock of enzymes actually work. Old and denatured enzymes have happened to me in more than one school. You don't want that to happen to you in front of Year 8's. Practice first. Homework included. It is a graph homework. Markscheme is there. Please follow and share your ideas too on instagram and facebook! @scipreproom

Enzymes for KS3 KS4 GCSE introduction

The conceptual knowledge of enzymes is the foundation of understanding chemical digestion. The graphs (which come later) will not be understood without the slog of understanding the keywords. The fantastic youtube video is not mine, however it helps a lot! Students are then asked to make their own resource. All activities are guided. Includes a homework to cement their definitions.
