Mood Music

Mood Music

(0)
A simple resource designed to see how music can reflect/convey mood. Encourage child to open camera on device and scan QR code. Each code will open a piece of music that represents the mood being shown on the visual. How does the child react to the music? If they can, ask the child to draw what they feel from the music. You might find that they don’t associate the music with that emotion. Ask them what emotion it does make them think of.

STAR behaviour analysis chart

The ‘STAR Approach’ to the management of challenging behaviours is a sophisticated approach akin to an ABC analysis and can be used in everyday practice by all. It is described in the book Problem Behaviour and People with Severe Learning Disabilities: The STAR Approach by Ewa Zarkowska and John Clements (1994). By unpicking behaviour through the four categories “setting”, “trigger”, “action” and “result”, a clearer picture of what may be causing a certain behaviour can be built and thus supported.
