Year 9 - Gumball (sweet dispenser) JIG only project. Lower ability project

Year 9 phone holder projects - Weeks 1 to 11 JIG only project. Lower ability project I have uploaded a project that makes the same product but uses finger and lap joints to manufacture the gum ball dispenser. Higher skilled product. Each week has a question that will be discussed in the practical lesson. Each question relates to a big question that is - What impact does the manufacturing have on your carbon footprint? - Each week a homework has been added. A tracking sheet that will be used to assess the learners at the end of the carousel. PLC has been added to the resources where each learner will use them to check their own progress and skills learnt. Each skill that is taught has been photographed and is in the powerpoint. Engineering drawings are added to the slides to teach learners the basics of reading engineering drawings. A workbooklet has been added that I used during lockdown.

Engineering - Eduqas/Wjec Lvl 1/2 - Unit 3 - Solving Engineering problems Teaching from September 2022 This unit will be ran in the single lesson allocated to this subject in year 10 and 11. I plan to run the exam at the end of Year 11 for my classes. This is linked with how I intend to run this course when using the SOL I have added to the site. See SOL for further details. All tasks are linked to the specification. This is work in progress and some tasks may be incomplete but like I said this is work in progress for a new specification and will provide the basis of a good foundation to work from. SEE PART 2 OF THESE RESOURCES TO COMPLETE THIS UNIT I have also added Unit 2 - Designing engineering products resources Weeks 1 to 4 - 3.3.1 Describing engineering processes Weeks 5 to 8 - 3.3.2 Describing applications of engineering processes Weeks 9 to 12 - 3.3.3 Safe working practices Weeks 13 to 16 - 3.1.1 Describing engineering developments Weeks - 17 to 20 - 3.1.2 Explaining the effects of engineering achievements Weeks 21 to 24 - 3.1.3 Explaining how environmental issues affect engineering applications Weeks 25 to 28 - 3.2.1 Understanding materials, their properties, and their selection for specific purposes Please check back for updates to this uplaod as i will develop more resources and adapt and improve the ones already done. Such as 3.2.1 Understanding materials, their properties (updated)

I have developed a booklet for learners to develop skills when calculating materials. The questions are job related and designed the same way as they will come up in the exam. I have started the booklet with simple easy questions and then worked into exam style questions.

Resources to help deliver and guidance for teachers which includes templates. The resources also include power points that will help learners learn how to draw and convert third angle projection. I have added numerous tasks for learners to follow. I have added slides that show and demonstrate the tasks and how shapes are draw in both orthographic and 3rd angle drawings. I will add google sketch up drawings to show how to make a product in google sketch and then move the design to be able to screen shot it to show third angle drawing. Following tasks and power point for learners to complete: Orthographic and 3rd angle projection task Life cycle assessment task Renewable energy I will be adding other resources for this unit so keep checking back

Resources to help deliver and guidance for teachers which includes templates and examples of work that has been graded. The resources also include two power points that have tutorials of how to use CAD software (google sketch up) and 2D Design when completing engineering drawings for learners to be able to produce their own work independently from the rest of the class. A teaching PP and Learner PP is supplied for units 1 and 2. Also included is 2 videos that describe how 2 engineering products work. I also have the template for the 2D Design. Each part of the lamp has been drawn on a seperate 2D Design file. These can be adapted for learners to develop and finish. Message me with your email address and I will forward them on.

Teaching from September 2022 SOL for year 10 Eduqas/Wjec Engineering Lvl 1/2 This is how I’m running it from September but no way is it set in stone. This is my first draft but the foundations are there. We have 1 double lesson and 1 single lesson each week for year 10’s and 11’s. The double lesson I intend to run with the practical elements for unit 1 this is based on skills that will/should be used when the exam board release the skills needed in June/July. I am running with exam theory in the single lesson. All resources will be linked to the specification and titled in that way. See my downloads for these resources.
