The worksheets help children to remember how to recognise an emergency; who the people are who will help them; how to recognise a ‘nine’ and 'one'; how many ‘nines' and 'ones' they need to press; how many ‘three’ is; their name, address and phone number; what it really means to be brave, smart and strong, and to be ‘BIG’; and helps them to remember the three important questions they need to answer so they know whether to take action and get the help, (by using the special numbers: 9-1-1).
These worksheets help to reinforce with children to know when there is or is not a bullying situation; the signs that someone is being bullied or is a bully; what can happen to a child being bullied (or who is a bully); the reasons why it is important to tell someone about a bullying incident and tell on someone who is bullying; to remember that bullying can happen anywhere; and what to do when someone else is being bullied.
These activites also help to install in children how to recognise ‘stranger danger’ and steps for taking action. Children can learn and remember who they are allowed to be with and where they are allowed to go; what to say and not say to a ‘stranger’; what to do to get away from a 'stranger'; who can help if a ‘stranger’ approaches them; and the importance of the special number: ‘911’ (Nine-One-One). They also learn how to know if someone else is involved a 'stranger danger' situation and the steps that should be taken to help that person.
