GCSE Edexcel Chemistry (Combined) Retrieval Grids
Retrieval grids for each of the different units for GCSE Edexcel Chemistry (Combined). Each grid is totally differentiated, containing questions assessing core, good and outstanding knowledge. Most grids contain 30 questions, though some with more demanding and time-consuming questions (such as the CC9 chemistry calculations grid) may contain a little less. Each of the grids has a set of model answers.
Use these grids throughout the year to ensure that students retain the key knowledge they need for exams.

Exploring Science 7 Retrieval Grids (ALL UNITS)
Retrieval grids for each of the different units in Exploring Science 7. Each grid is totally differentiated, containing questions assessing core, good and outstanding knowledge. Most grids contain 30 questions. Each of the grids has a set of model answers.
Use these grids throughout the year to ensure that students retain the key knowledge they need for exams.

GCSE Chemistry Calculations Cheat Sheet (SC9/CC9)
This is a cheat sheet I used for the CC9 unit on chemistry calculations. It contains detailed instructions on how to calculate formula masses, figure out empirical formulae and solve reacting masses problems. This a free resource and may not work perfectly for everybody, but I found it hugely beneficial for building confidence by allowing students to refer to it, especially with higher ability classes.

Edexcel GCSE Physics (Combined) Retrieval Grids
Retrieval grids for each of the different units for GCSE Edexcel Physics (Combined). Each grid is totally differentiated, containing questions assessing core, good and outstanding knowledge. Most grids contain 30 questions. Each of the grids has a set of model answers.
Use these grids throughout the year to ensure that students retain the key knowledge they need for exams.

CC3a History of the Atom Worksheet
A timeline worksheet to support teaching of CC3a History of the Atom. Students could watch a video or find information around the room etc to support their understanding of the detailed scientific discoveries that informed what we know about the atom today. Can be printed in black and white or in colour.

CC9b Reacting Masses Calculation Scaffold (Edexcel GCSE Combined Science Chemistry)
This is a scaffold I used with a middle ability class to teach reacting masses calculations. It worked for me so I thought I would share here for free. Sample questions and answers are provided, and the whole resource is fill in the blanks to instill confidence.

Exploring Science 7 Total Recall Revision (ALL UNITS)
Encourage students to put their learning into words and challenge them to write about what they know as part of their revision. Each of the total recall sheets features the title of the unit of work at the top, and some suggestions as to what students could write about. A great way to start a lesson to get students thinking straight away.
This document contains one A4 printable sheet for each of the Exploring Science 7 units.

Each of the total recall sheets features the title of the unit of work at the top, and some suggestions as to what students could write about. A great way to start a lesson to get students thinking straight away.
This document contains one A4 printable sheet for each of the Edexcel GCSE Combined Physics units.

Science: What do I think? Student Worksheet
Help students to reflect on what they think about science and their science lessons. This worksheet helps students to identify what they enjoy about science. It also asks them what they find challenging and allows them to think of ways they could overcome these challenges. Can be used with both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students to encourage positive attitudes towards the subject.

CC4a History of the Periodic Table Worksheet (Edexcel Combined Science Chemistry)
A worksheet I used at the end of the lesson for students to summarise their learning about Dmitri Mendeleev and the history of the periodic table.

100 Common Science Words
100 common words used in the science classroom for students to use to help their spellings! Useful for both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students.

CC4b The Development of the Periodic Table
A timetable filled with questions to get students thinking about the development of the modern periodic table. I used this at the end of the lesson to get students to summarise what they had learnt and to act as a nice revision sheet for them when they looked back on this topic at the end of the year. Model answers are also supplied for students to self-assess their responses if you so wish.
