Step-by-step guidance for children and teachers. Over sixty writing challenges in five workbooks. Each workbook introduce methods of punctuation progressively. Covers all aspects of the curriculum including: - Sequence sentences to form short narratives - Separate words with spaces - Use spacing between words that reflects the size of the letters. - Begin to punctuate sentences using a capital letter and a full stop - Use a capital letter for names of people, places, the days of the week, and the personal pronoun ‘I’ Challenges are provided on editable slides. They can be used to demonstrate approaches to writing sentences and edited to create your own additional challenges. Challenges are based on a theme of 'mermaids and water monsters' to stimulate creative thinking and writing. Each challenge involves some unpunctuated text for children to rewrite with punctuation. These are accompanied by fun challenges that range from creative to silly. Challenges can be checked using the 'Sentence Check Sheets'. These accompany each set of challenges and progressively increase the methods of punctuation to check. Space is provided for a self-check and a peer-check. Shooting Stars Spelling Display Activity

Can be used as a display activity or print them out as sets for a group challenge. Includes a star for each letter of the alphabet, UFO and some extra stars and space ornaments. Stick the letters to your display. Add the UFO below along with the spelling of your choice. Connect a piece of string to each letter of the spelling. The challenge is for students to join each letter to the relevant 'shooting star' by sticking the string with some blu-tac. Alternatively print out multiple sets for the class to work on in small groups. Give out spellings one at a time and challenge the groups to see who can shoot down their spelling the fastest!
