AQA Trilogy Chemistry Paper 2 Extended Response Questions

Get those 7-9 Grades! Prepare students for the extended response questions. These questions are where students can gain a large amount of marks but are often very daunting! These questions target A02 (Apply knowledge and understanding) to A03 (Analyse information and ideas). This resource contains a large amount of practice questions, essential preparation and practice for students. Selected for COMBINED SCIENCE TRILOGY 9-1 These are extended response questions from sample and past papers from AQA for Chemistry Paper 2 (Rates of Reaction, Organic Chemistry, Chemical Analysis, Chemistry of the Atmosphere and Using resources). Mark schemes included. How I used them: I have printed these, laminated them and folded them in half and glued it closed. I have put these in a folder on the wall and students can use them to practice extended writing tasks with the help of the leveled grade descriptor. Students can then turn over the card and self assess using the marking scheme. Alternatively, the slide can be projected with the MS hidden.

This lesson has been tailored to meet the specification requirements for 6.5.2 of AQA spec for Trilogy science. This lesson covers: Describe what is meant by ‘doing work’. Compare the factors affecting work done. Calculate work done for different situations. It includes an application style activity that links w=mg to w=fs and also a literacy task challenge that is linked to work and identifying forces. suitable for high ability students but scaffolded enough to be suitable for a middle ability class. i also included some extra worksheet for more calculations that link in all the physics work formulas that were covered under physics paper 1 - useful as a homework activity
