Additional Terms - Tes Institute

These Additional Terms are additional terms and conditions which apply to and should be read in addition to the General Terms & Conditions. This part of the terms and conditions governs the supply of content and services through the Tes Institute Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). 

In the event of a conflict of the General Terms and Conditions, the terms of these Additional terms shall prevail over the General Terms and Conditions.

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before registering with the Tes Institute or purchasing a course, as your registration or purchase indicates that you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

We reserve the right to amend, cancel, suspend or modify any of the content and services supplied through the Tes Institute VLE at any time with or without notice.


By registering or placing an order with the Tes Institute, you promise that you are (1) legally capable of entering into binding contracts; and (2) over the age of 18 years.

The obligations of Tes Global and you regarding purchase of a course: Your order represents an offer to Tes Global Ltd (“Tes Global”) to purchase an online learning course. After placing your order, you will receive an email for us acknowledging receipt of your order.

Tes Global reserves the right to withdraw you from the course if you breach any part of the General Terms and Conditions or this Additional Terms, or if you fail to meet the standards of participation required by the external examiners.

You should refer to individual course documentation and/or Tes Institute website information for confirmation of the length of your individual course. Post-course access to course materials are set out below:

Three month post-course access for:

  • School Direct ITT Course
  • Straight to Teaching with Assessment Only Course
  • Core ITT Course
  • CPD courses

One month post-course access for:

  • Subject Knowledge Enhancement (SKE) courses
  • Assessment Only Route (no preparation)
  • SKE for Teachers
  • Return to Teaching Course
  • Teach in an English School / Teach in a BSO Courses

Access to content provided as part of a content licensing agreement with Tes Institute will cease with the termination of such content licensing agreement.

Please note that the above access limits do not apply to you if you started a course before these revised terms and conditions came into force. For the applicable access limits in that instance, please refer to the course documentation provided to you upon course enrolment. 

If you purchase a voucher for redemption against a Tes Institute course, the voucher will be valid for redemption against that course for a period of 8 weeks from the date of purchase. At the end of the 8-week period, the voucher will expire and will no longer be valid for redemption against any Tes Institute course. No refunds or replacement vouchers will be offered.

Tes Global may withdraw either of these entitlements if you breach of any part of the General Terms and Conditions or these Additional Terms.

Tes Global reserves the right to withdraw you from the course if you breach any part of the General Terms and Conditions or this Additional Terms, or if you fail to meet the standards of participation required by the course.

The obligations of Tes Global and you regarding registering with the Tes Institute:  

Your registration with the Tes Institute or Tes Institute’s provision of access to the specialist content or services through the Tes Institute VLE does not provide any guarantee from Tes Global that you will be able to complete the course of which the content or services form part. Completion of the course requires you to satisfy the standards set for the course.

Price and Payment

The price of any courses will be as quoted on the website from time to time or provided to you in writing by an authorised representative of Tes Institute, except in the case of obvious error. The price is inclusive of all charges and costs excluding any data costs you incur and is inclusive of all taxes. Prices are liable to change at any time, but changes will not affect existing contracts and orders which we have accepted in accordance with the process outlined above.

Payment can be made by credit or debit card or via Paypal or by redeeming a Tes Courses voucher. Tes Global will deduct the appropriate amount from your credit or debit card, or extinguish the voucher when you place the Subscription order.


All sales on the Tes Institute platform are subject to our refunds policy detailed below.

By proceeding with any purchase through Tes Institute, you agree that we or our Affiliates shall immediately supply the courses sold to you for your use, download or access in accordance with the terms and conditions of this agreement. Therefore, you accept and acknowledge that you shall have no right to cancel your purchase or withdraw from or terminate your contract with us once your order has been placed. All sales shall be final and no refunds will generally be available.

Notwithstanding the foregoing policy, Tes Global may grant refunds in certain circumstances at our sole discretion. If you wish to discuss a refund please contact us at
