TSL Education secured one of the most coveted awards at the 2010 PPA Awards as its website for the teaching community, TES Connect, was named Business Web Service of the Year.

As the UK's largest teaching exchange platform, TES Connect is demonstrably contributing to rising standards in teaching practices and transforming the learning environment for young people. The judges said ".... this large, powerful and important web service has shown huge innovation and brilliantly serves its chosen community....Strong revenue growth and amazing traffic built on good design, good navigation, and a community element that is clearly both appropriate and successful".

TES Connect is host to the UK's largest online community of teachers who create, upload and share over 46,000 teaching resources such as lesson plans and revision aides. TES Connect attracts 1.85 million monthly unique users and has almost 1 million registered users. The site's resources are growing at a phenomenal rate with around 2.7 million downloads of user generated content per month.

Following significant investment TSL has also improved the functionality of the site, greatly enhancing the ability for teachers to form on-line groups to communicate, create portals of excellence and share latest resources.

Louise Rogers, Chief Executive of TSL Education, said: "This is a magnificent accolade for TSL's ever expanding digital business and everyone here is really proud to see TES Connect recognised by the industry in this way for the service it provides to the teaching community."

Now in their 30th year the PPA awards, judged across 22 categories, represent a unique opportunity to gain industry recognition for the outstanding achievements during the past 12 months. The awards were presented at a gala awards ceremony on Wednesday 16 June at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London.
