Theatre in Education Small Project

Theatre in Education Small Project

A small project about Theatre in Education I used with my Year 9s in drama this year. Would be good to use with PSCHE as well. Gives students a chance to look into how TiE works and create their own TiE company. The presentation and two sheets I created are added and can be amended. During the first lesson they create their company and create a script/performance. In lesson 2 they look at funding a company and creating a letter to schools to get their support and backing. Really engaged the students... I used some music from The Apprentice and did a lot of acting throughout where they were judged by a 'panel' of other students pretending to be schools or companies that were looking into hiring their company for PSCHE days.

Sex and the Media - Year 9 Sexual Education Lesson 1

This is the beginning of a sex ed module with year 9 PSHE. I chose to begin this module with sex and the media. The starter activity is where they carousel and write down all the slang terms they know. I then allow them to share their answers but that's up to you! They then agree to only use correct terminology from then on.All video links are listed below in case they do not work https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2SrpARP_M0ohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z6UUAE2CXXMhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8uOErVShiEhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lUJ24mblCLYhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSSv170r5J0

Role Models and Superheroes

Role Models and Superheroes

Originally a ‘learn to learn/Citizenship’ lesson for a SEN low ability special needs class. Has been adapted slightly. It asks pupils to think about role models, characteristics, and what we should aspire to. I normally hand draw a ‘superhero’ body outline and ask pupils to use colours and design to reflect a villain side and a hero side - this way they have to consider colour connotations too!
