World Book Day Quiz

World Book Day Quiz

Another one of my 'interactive' Quizzes - this is #3!The pattern is the same as my other ones - so TV Intros, Who Am I?, Films, Dingbats etc. However, all of these have a focus on World Book Day - so all the questions are linked to books. You could, obviously, do this at other times though! It's aimed to be accessible across the Key Stages - I've done it with 7s (with a number of clues!) right up to my Upper 6th English. There are rounds my younger class did much better at!!! It should happily take up a lesson or a tutor period - the answers are included at the back. You can pick up my other two quizzes - in the same format - here:End of Term Quiz #1End of Term Quiz #2

Behaviour Goals / Targets

Behaviour Goals / Targets

As a department we use both these resources for students that need some extra attention at KS3 with behaviour. The first one is simple. Each individual teacher writes their own individual goals for their students and they monitor them each lesson. It is informal, in that, the class teacher does all monitoring and reacts accordingly with class sanctions and rewards. The second one is more formal. The student is monitored for a period of a week. At the end of the week, the pupil will report to HOD of department to get their report signed and will also get the report signed by their parents. In school we make a positive phone call home and give the student a normal school reward. There are two templates attached (One with more instruction than the other)All are in .doc format are editable for your own lesson / school needs.

Cool KWL Charts - Planning and Assessment

Cool KWL Charts - Planning and Assessment

K-W-L Charts track what a student knows (K), want to know (W), and has learned(L) about a topic, and can be used before, during, and after research projects.Using a K-W-L chart, students can prepare to research a topic and use it to track information gathered along the way. It will help students confirm what they know about a topic and encourage them to think about how they want to focus their research. Ask students leading questions for each column of the chart, such as “what do you already know about this topic?” “What things do you want to learn about the topic so you can focus your research?” “What did you learn from doing your research?” K-W-L charts are also a great tool for teachers to use at the end of a topic to assess how much the student has learned. This resource includes a series of KWL charts for some of the more popular areas of the curriculum. It also includes a blank KWL charts for you to use for the topic of your choice.

Digital Planbook with Google Slides-Black or White High Contrast/Neon

Digital Planbook with Google Slides-Black or White High Contrast/Neon

Why Plan Online? My teacher planners are always totally cute-but I don't carry them with me all day. Not carrying a huge book shouldn’t limit my ability to work on the go and use those pockets of free time to prepare for my kiddos, so I began creating this planner based on my needs and have added ideas based on feedback from others. Since I have my google drive on my phone I ALWAYS have access to my plans. If I get a good idea, see something I want to add to a lesson, snap a photo that inspires a great science talk-I just upload it to my drive on my phone and it is all RIGHT THERE no matter where I am. Major Perks!Access it anywhere you can connect to the internet. ANYWHERE!Copy/Paste links to videos/images that you want to use in your lessons. This makes it so much easier to pull up the things you want to show! Duplicate pages you use over and over so you don’t have to retype/write things again and again. Share with colleagues for collaborative planning. Work with a team that shares planning responsibilities? Awesome-everyone can access a shared plan book to add their pieces-even at the same time! New year? No Problem! I plan to update this each spring with new calendar pages. You can make a copy of next year’s file and then use the Insert > Import Slides button to import any of the items from previous years that you want to use again. Want to use different planning styles for different units? Easy! Just duplicate the slides you want to use and place them in an order that makes sense to you. Once this planner is yours, you can make as many as you want. I organize by quarter so I have four. I duplicate what I need and delete the rest!
