Valentines Day Bookmarks - How Do I Love Thee? Let Me Count the Ways!

Valentines Day Bookmarks - How Do I Love Thee? Let Me Count the Ways!

Use these bookmarks as a fun and colorful way for your students to show and tell their loved ones how much they love and appreciate them. These bookmarks are great for Valentines Day or any day that you wish. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways! 1,2,3, how many ways can they come up with? Your students can write meaningful love notes to their loved ones to show them how much they care for them. The challenge is to write as many ways they can find by listing them on the half sheets provided. I included a sheet bearing 100 hearts that your kiddos will progressively highlight as they continue to find ways they come up with. Older students can use figurative language creatively for this activity. Younger students can create acrostic poems at the back of their bookmarks or simply color the black and white version. The back of the bookmark can be used to total how many ways they got. For example: “I found ten ways to show how I love you.” The sheets can be compiled into a booklet for their loved ones too! Can they come up with 100 ways? Let’s see!Print on heavy cardstock-like paper to support your bookmark or on ordinary sheets which would be mounted onto both sides of the cardstock later on. When bookmarks are completed simply arrange as many as possible inside a large laminating pouch about 1/2 inch (1.3 cm) from one another. Secure with a dab from a clear glue stick to hold them in place, and laminate them all at once. Cut them out and punch a hole at the top and add a tassel. There are colored, low colored and black 'n white options.
