Suspense Writing: Full Writing Scheme of Work

Suspense Writing: Full Writing Scheme of Work

This scheme takes the group step by step through the stages of how to write a story. It is adapted from the government initiative 'Improving Childrens Writing' getting children from level 3 to level 4. I have changed it a little, so that it is also suitable for level 2 and 3 as well. Some resources you will have to get from the government published folder 'improving childrens writing'.

CVC Words Write The Room Game

CVC Words Write The Room Game

Write the Room is a favourite activity in my classroom. It gives students the opportunity to move around and to interact with text found within the classroom. It also challenges their hand-eye coordination, and allows them to practise handwriting.Included in this pack are the following:• 35 x numbered picture cards• simple recording sheet• mini workbooks x2INSTRUCTIONS:• cut out and laminate all the picture cards• out of order, place all the cards around the classroom or other area where students can be supervised• give students the simple ‘box’ recording sheet to write down the words they find – each picture has a number to indicate which box number they should write the word in• a useful follow up activity is for students to complete the workbook. By drawing each word, they will be showing that they were able to read the word. The workbook pages can be found on Pages 14-21. (Alternative workbook Pages 22-31)• Print back to back, collate and staple******************************************************CONTENT✎ Cover/Contents✎ Teacher Notes✎ Numbered Picture Cards x 35✎ Recording Sheet✎ Mini Workbook ✎ Alternative Workbook with handwriting Practice✎ TOU/CreditsPAGE COUNT: 33**********************************************************RELATED RESOURCESCVC Words**********************************************************Teacher's Toolkit Literacy
