2 HOURS A fully-resourced PSHE / RSE lesson which serves as an introduction to the difference between sex and gender and explores sexuality, identity, language (correct terms) and gender expression. Students will explore new key terminology before investigating the key components of identity and sexual orientation, why some people still find some of the ideas behind this controversial (such as pronoun use) and then educate other students on a trait they will be working on and presenting in small groups (all information needed is included). **Fast fashion - how are our clothing choices affecting the environment? ** A detailed, editable 1 hour lesson all about the fast fashion industry and the reasons why we need to consume and dispose of clothing responsibly. Created to fit an ‘adaptive teaching style’ the lesson is influenced by Rosenshine’s principles of instruction, and promotes both cognitive and metacognitive strategies. In this lesson, the students will discuss the global impact of the fast fashion industry and identify examples of sustainable and unstainable clothing materials. For the Gatsby Careers Guidelines - A careers assembly lasting around 20-25 minutes (including short clip) with a focus on why Careers Education is so important and how students can make the most of all the opportunities presented to them whilst in school. The assembly examines the cases of two fictional ex-students, Alisha and Jack, who didn’t take Careers Education seriously and ended up paying the price for it by adding years on to their lives in the time it took them to eventually find their ideal jobs. The slides in the previews are just a sample and not the whole assembly.
