1:1 Teaching Assistant - Sixth Form

32.5 hours a week, 38 weeks pa (term time only)

Support Grade E

Fixed-term until end of May 2024 subject to amendment to reflect change in needs set out in the relevant EHCP

The Role

The primary role of the Teaching Assistant will be to support a sixth form student with ASD and an Education, Health and Care Plan. They will lead the support for the student by planning, adapting and delivering high quality intervention in conjunction with the requirements set out in the students’ EHCP. The Teaching Assistant will provide advice and guidance to the student, parents and staff. They will liaise with appropriate professionals from education, health and social care. 

You will also work under the direct instruction of the SENDCo / Assistant SENDCo where needed to provide support to students and teachers within various subjects.

What We’re Looking For  

• Ability to relate well to students and adults.      
• An understanding of classroom roles and responsibilities.      
• Ability to work constructively as part of a team.      
• Work experience in a similar role, including working with students with ASD.      
• Experience of working with students with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).      
• The candidate should meet HLTA standards, or have an equivalent qualification or experience.      
• The ability to use school IT systems.      
• Ability to support at A-Level.      
• The ability to use school IT systems.
