This is an excellent opportunity to join Les Beaucamps High School in Guernsey and enjoy an exceptional future on a beautiful island.
We are looking for an experienced, well-qualified specialist graduate teacher who can teach throughout Key Stages 3 and 4, whilst making a full contribution to the ethos, identity and life of the school and to the Guernsey Federation of Secondary Schools.
As our Second in Department, you will have the opportunity to play a prominent role in middle leadership, specifically leading initiatives that will contribute to the strengthening of numeracy skills. You will also join an experienced department where the success rate in external examinations has shown an upward trend.
To be successful, you will have excellent communication and management skills, a strong commitment to teamwork and the ability to maintain productive relationships with staff and young people. Above all, you will have the determination to make a difference to the lives of young people.
About the Education Service
The three island 11-16 High Schools, the Guernsey Grammar School & Sixth Form Centre (11-18), and St Anne’s School in Alderney work in a federated model of partnership working led by the Director of Education.
The drivers in secondary phase education for this collaborative approach are quality of educational experience and outcomes, equality of opportunity and access, and efficient and effective use of resources.
Employed by the States of Guernsey and based at Les Beaucamps High School, you will be required to maximise opportunities for collaborative working, teaching and learning across Key Stages and shared professional development across schools. There is an expectation that you will engage in cross-school initiatives which may require working on more than one site to meet the needs of the Education Service.
