Job overview

Dear Prospective staff member,

Firstly thank you for taking the time in considering King Faisal School for the next stage of your career and professional development. As an IB Continuum school,  KFS students have previously only able to graduate with an IB Diploma. The graduates of Summer 2018 benefited from our AdvancEd Accreditation and had the choice between IB Diploma and American Diploma. With the school roll increasing and an ambitious development plan in place we now seek an excellent practitioner to help lead and develop the school’s American Diploma course.

We need a middle leader who can clearly demonstrate energy, innovation and creativity in every element of the role, going the ‘extra mile’ to enable our students to be the leaders of tomorrow.  I wish all applicants a successful career, be that here with us at KFS or elsewhere.

The successful candidate joins the school at a wonderful time in its development. With an ever-growing number of students on roll and increased funding the school has recently grown from 1,400 to 1,900 students. With an ambitious Governing Body the next few years at KFS will see much positive change.

Kind regards

Graham Howell

About King Faisal School

King Faisal School (KFS) is situated in the Saudi Arabian capital of Riyadh, close to the centre of the country. While English is the primary language of instruction, there are Arabic lessons to preserve the country’s cultural identity. It is a private school that is a member of the King Faisal Foundation (KFF), an organisation with a wide portfolio of investments, in Universities as well as KFS. Today, the school educates around 1,900 students between the ages of 6-18, the school having an approximate teacher to student ratio of 1:10. Boys attend the school from 3 to 18 years of age and girls from 3 to 11 with the girls' school growing year on year until it is a full through-school. They share 36 acres within Riyadh's most desirable district, the Diplomatic Quarter.

The school and foundation is named after the King of Saudi Arabia from 1964 until his death in 1975, a man often praised for modernising and reforming the country. The King was a strong believer that a well-educated nation is one of the foundation stones of a strong and successful country. The KFF was founded in 1976 and KFS launched in 1991. Over the first 20 years of the school’s existence, the student population tripled. In April 2014, the KFF teamed up with the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IB) to bring IB accreditation to Saudi Arabia, and KFS was one such school. KFS is also the first national school in Saudi Arabia to apply international standards of education to its curriculum successfully.
