About Dulwich Wood

Dulwich Wood is located in Dulwich, London. It consists of a primary school (Dulwich Wood Primary), a nursery school (Dulwich Wood Nursery) and the Camberwell and Dulwich Children and Family Centres serving all of Camberwell and Dulwich.

Dulwich Wood sits at the heart of the Kingswood Estate, backing on to the ancient woodlands that give us our name. The community we nestle at the centre of, and the awesome nature on our doorstep, are central to our children’s learning lives.

We have exceptional space, which we have developed to create a unique educational environment that celebrates inclusivity, encourages collaboration and drives creativity in our learning, underpinned by a rigour that sees our academic attainment improve year on year alongside our children’s emotional and social wellbeing.

What are we like?

We are creative, caring, confident and collaborative!

In our 2022 OFSTED inspection at the Primary School the inspector said:

The pupils’ happiness and excitement are seen and felt as they enter the school gates. Their exuberance brings life and energy to this school. Pupils are safe because they show kindness towards each other, and the staff are ‘warm, welcoming, and caring’. Many parents rightly share the view that the school‘ provides a supportive, safe and encouraging environment for the children’.

In our 2021 OFSTED inspection at the Nursery School the inspector said:

Children attend school with enthusiasm. They enjoy playing and discovering in the woods within the school grounds. Children flourish in the extensive outdoor spaces. This is because the curriculum provides a wealth of well-planned activities to support their wider development. Children play together happily and are well looked after. Adults create a caring and nurturing environment. They make sure that children are safe and teach them to be considerate of each other.
