Description The role of Administrative Assistant is a permanent part-time position in the Secretariat at the Catholic Schools Office which is based in Newcastle. This is a job-share position for two (2) days per week Thursday and Fridays.
Position Requirements The successful applicant will be responsible for Reception and Switchboard as well as clerical and administrative assistance within the Secretariat.
Essential Criteria • Reception/Switchboard experience
• Knowledge of MS Word, Excel and basic data base operation
• Capacity to use in-house room booking system
• Typing speed of 40 wpm
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Capacity to print and use Franking machine for mail
• Support for the ethos of Catholic education

The Catholic Schools Office (CSO), is responsible for the leadership, efficient operation and management of systemic schools which educate more than 18,000 students in 45 Primary schools, 10 Secondary schools and one K-12 school in the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle.
