Catholic Education, Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn (CECG) plays an integral role in education both in the ACT and NSW operating 56 Catholic Systemic Schools and eight Early Learning Centres.

About the Role

This role supports the implementation of the Archdiocesan Vision for Catholic Schools and provides efficient and effective secretarial support to the Catholic Education Office.

Key responsibilities

  • Co-ordinate and facilitate in conjunction with, Manager finance and General Manager
  • Work with Finance team and General Manager on improving processes and procedures in Early Learning Centre (ELC) admin team to improve efficiencies.
  • Overseeing the processing of data into QikKids from each ELC ensuring compliance and accuracy of data by working closely with admin staff in each ELC
  • Provide secretarial and administrative support to members of the Catholic Education team by checking ELC staff employment records to ensure compliance. Conducting policy audits, compliance audits, staff surveys and family surveys
  • Assist in the project management of key initiative’s, from opening of new ELC’s, process re-engineering admin functions in ELC’s.
  • Preparing and creating documents for presentation to ELC Governance Committee, SALT, Commission presentations and other meetings within CE.
  • Coordinate ELC workshops and conferences. This includes booking the venue, organising catering, and other associated administrative tasks as directed.
  • Secretariat support as required including managing General Manager’s diary and calendar
  • General office duties e.g., filing documents in TRIM, maintaining stationery
  • Maintain strong and engaging stakeholder management with key internal and external key liaisons.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace and abide by workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor

Essential Criteria

  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team
  • Professional experience and working knowledge with computer software packages including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal skill with a courteous and cooperative approach
  • Excellent communication (both oral and written) and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated capacity to undertake administrative tasks efficiently and complete them in a timely manner
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Commerce or Accounting would be highly desired.
  • Qualifications or experience working in Early Learning Centres would be highly desired.
  • A current Working with Venerable People (WWVP) or a willingness to obtain one.
