This is an exciting opportunity to use your first class organisational and administrative skills to play an important role in the admissions processes of a leading independent day school based in the heart of Oxford.

As Admissions Secretary, you will be a key member of the School’s admissions team. The team are responsible for ensuring the smooth running and successful completion of the admissions process, from initial enquiry through to the pupil joining the School. 

Your responsibilities will include maintaining the admissions database, handling enquiries from prospective parents, processing applications and assisting with the administration of the School’s entrance examinations. You will also assist with admissions events, such as parents’ visits. 

You will need excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be able to maintain a high level of efficiency. You will also need to be a competent user of the Microsoft Office suite of packages and databases and also have proven experience in office administration.

About Oxford High School for Girls GDST

Oxford High School is an independent, non-denominational, all-through school for girls without nursery and with sixth form, situated in three sites in Summertown, North Oxford. It is one of 26 members of the GDST (Girls’ Day School Trust), meaning it is governed by the council and operates according to the trust’s policy. The school provides 906 places for primary, secondary and sixth-form students aged 4-19.

Oxford High School was founded in 1875 and is the oldest girls' school in the city. Until recently it accepted boys into its junior school, but is now girls-only.
