A message from the Headteacher.

Newsome is in such an exciting transformational stage in our development and have high aspirations for our future success. Many initiatives have already been implemented in order to lay solid foundations to support our drive for excellence. Our school is a family school where all staff know every student. Because of our small size, we can cater for the individual needs of our students and we are proud to have our specialist provisions for hearing and physically impaired students.

I am passionate about ensuring that students have the very best experience and opportunities to prepare them not only for important qualifications, but also to be well-rounded, responsible citizens – demonstrating compassion, enthusiasm and confidence. To support this, we must have an aspirational culture where positive behaviour, creative teaching and a caring approach support all students – whatever their ability.

There will be many challenges ahead, not least as the Government makes changes to what is expected of schools. It is important that we work together to make sure OUR school serves the needs of OUR community and OUR young people and I hope that as many of you will get involved in the life of the school as possible. Only by working together can we make sure our children enjoy school and develop the skills and knowledge they need to build successful, happy lives.

We look forward to receiving applications from you to join our Academy.
