Do you inspire and motivate learners to achieve, with a track record of delivering results?
Enjoying unique lifestyle opportunities, St Helena Island is a self-governing overseas territory of the United Kingdom. Although better placed to develop economically and socially as a result of opening our international airport in 2017, we are not at the stage of self-sufficiency and therefore remain dependent on UK government aid.
There are four schools on the island; one secondary and three primaries. The curriculum broadly models the English education system.
As you lead, co-ordinate and develop Mathematics, you will plan, prepare and deliver appropriate schemes of work and contribute to the teaching of Maths in Adult Education and to FE students.
Holding a UK teaching qualification with QTS, you have a degree or equivalent in Maths and have successfully taught Maths in at least one secondary school to GCSE and A level. You will be able to contribute to the professional development of other teachers and may be directly involved in succession planning.
In addition, you must demonstrate our core values of fairness, integrity and teamwork and use your diverse expertise and experiences to ensure your time on the Island has the broadest benefit to St Helena. As an officer funded by the UK Government through the Technical Co-Operation Programme you will be expected to share your knowledge and skills beyond the workplace contributing to workforce, community and capacity development in St Helena.
