Governors of Wakefield Grammar School Foundation seek to appoint an outstanding professional to succeed Mrs Nina Gunson as Head of Wakefield Girls’ High School (WGHS) Senior School.

Founded in 1878, WGHS is traditional yet forward thinking, offering a stimulating and challenging environment and a culture of high expectation which celebrates achievement and develops self-esteem and confidence. As one of the family of schools that comprise Wakefield Grammar School Foundation, WGHS delivers all the benefits of a single-sex education whilst also providing academic, social and cultural links with its brother school, Queen Elizabeth Grammar School.

The new Head will have the opportunity to build on the excellent work undertaken over the recent years, providing the vision and leadership to take the School forward and position the institution so as to continue its first-class education for the future. The Head will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the School whilst promoting and maintaining its distinctive ethos.
