About Star Institute

Star Institute is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to take on the leadership of its Appropriate Body for the Birmingham South Teaching School Hub region, based in Birmingham. It is an exciting time to join the team as our provision expands. You will be working for one of the highest performing multi-academy trusts in the country with 20,00 pupils in over 31 schools, providing an Appropriate Body service to our family of schools in the Trust and the schools that sit within our Teaching School Hub region.

You will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks including supporting schools through the induction process, dealing with enquiries regarding ECT progress and support, ensuring ECT’s receive their statutory entitlement, updating resources, materials and guidance for schools. The role is ideal for leaders with experience of delivering an Appropriate Body service and those who have been involved in the induction assessment of new teachers. 



Who we’re looking for

You will provide operational capacity and support the service’s strategic direction, utilising the skills and experience needed to support schools through the ECT induction assessment process. Through strong verbal and written communication skills you will be able to communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders.

You will have an excellent working knowledge of the induction process, its statutory requirements, and an appreciation of how this takes place within schools. A team player, who is also able to work independently, you will be able to prioritise a busy workload to consistently meet deadlines whilst working to very high standards. 

 

You will have:

  • QTS.
  • Experience of leadership within a school.
  • Experience of Appropriate Body service delivery.
  • Excellent knowledge of the ECT induction assessment.
  • Strong commitment to the Trust values of ‘Service’, ‘Teamwork’, ‘Ambition’ and ‘Respect’.
