The Role

An opportunity has arisen at Clacton County High School for the role of an aspiring graduate teacher. The role would suit someone who has recently graduated and is considering the possibility of moving into the teaching profession.

 

The successful candidate will be considered as an unqualified teacher working within the classroom, contracted under teachers pay and conditions. They would be well-supported and mentored by experienced colleagues in the delivery of pre-prepared lessons within the graduate’s subject specific knowledge base and also on behaviour management techniques. This aim is for graduates to feel supported and confident in the classroom in preparation for a possible transition onto a recognised teacher training scheme in September 2025.

·        To be an effective professional who demonstrates thorough subject specific knowledge, that he/she can teach others, take responsibility for professional development and raise student achievement.

Teach allocated lessons supported in

the preparation for this by experienced colleagues.

Use area(s) of expertise to

contribute to the planning and preparation of learning activities, and to plan

learning activities.

Promote, support and facilitate

inclusion by encouraging participation of all student in learning and

extracurricular activities.

 Support the teaching of a broad

and balanced curriculum aimed at students achieving their full potential in all

areas of learning.

CCHS is a large, popular and inclusive 11-19 comprehensive school that sits in the heart of our community. We operate across two sites, with colleagues teaching both at Walton Road (11-16) and our sixth form college (16-19), Sigma Sixth, based at the Tendring Education Centre.

There are over 30 subjects on offer to cater for the interests and aspirations of all students alongside a great enrichment programme.  The Sigma Sixth experience is designed to allow our students to self-discover where they want to go and what they want to be, they are the architects of their own futures.  The Sigma Sixth tagline of ‘Discover Yourself, Define Your Future’ reflects the entire ethos of our commitment to our students. Every year we continue to be amazed and inspired by the careers and University destinations of our college students.
