The Role

As an Assessment Manager, Education Reform Projects, you will be managing the development and cost-effective delivery of a portfolio of syllabuses and support materials that meet the needs of our international customers and that conform to Cambridge Assessment International Education’s assessment standards. There will be a focus on assessment work related to primary Mathematics which is going through some exciting developments including the transition into using CCMS, our content management system. The successful candidate will need to be flexible to meet the project environment.  You may also be supporting our customers with training, capacity building and consultancy services

What you’ll be doing:

  • As Assessment Manager, ideally covering primary mathematics and ICT syllabuses but could include other subjects and projects, you will:
  • Ensure that question papers and key documentation are produced efficiently, in line with procedures, on time and to the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Ensure that marking, grading and results and appeals procedures and responsibilities assigned to the post are carried out accurately and effectively, according to agreed procedures and to schedule.
  • Manage the appointment, allocation of work, performance and succession planning of Setters, Revisers, Vetters, Item Writers, Assistant Examiners, Principal Examiners and other consultants to ensure that assessments are produced, marked and graded in accordance with Cambridge Assessment International Education’s standards.
  • In conjunction with the Development Division as appropriate, work collaboratively with schools, partner organisations and ministries to develop and revise syllabuses and associated materials to ensure that they meet their needs, are cost effective and reflect the current developments in the subject area.
  • Contribute as required to the provision of consultancy services and training for partner organisations and ministries and produce key deliverables such as reports and training materials to agreed timescales and quality.
  • Contribute to improvement projects (systems/quality improvements), innovations, and working groups in relation to continuous improvements and maintenance of quality procedures or the on-going delivery of assessment projects.
  • Contribute to the development of Cambridge Assessment International Education’s strategy to use technology to provide on-line assessment, training and teacher support materials.
  • Monitor costs of assessment materials production or project budgets.

What we’re looking for

Qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level in mathematics, ICT or related technical subject area such as science
  • Knowledge of international education
  • Knowledge of educational assessment
  • High standard of English
  • Desirable
  • Post-graduate qualification in education, assessment or international development
  • Teaching qualification
