What it’s about

Reporting to a Senior Assessment Advisor in Assessment, and working closely with an Assessor Development Support Officer in the Assessment Standards and Quality team, the Assessor Development Manager will source, manage and develop our Assessment Specialists (examiners). This will include managing communications with our Assessment Specialists and assisting with the development of, and participation in, examiner training events. The Assessor Development Manager contributes to the development and review of instructions, guidance and online resources for Assessment Specialists and manages processes relating to various aspects of Assessment Specialist work.

What you’ll be doing

The Assessor Development Manager will:

• Scope, plan and carry out examiner recruitment, succession management and other campaigns and activities to meet immediate, forthcoming and future examiner resourcing requirements.

• Build and develop a community of professional practice by effectively communicating with, motivating and positively engaging with the cohort of Cambridge International examiners.

• Develop processes, procedures and instructions relating to examiners, including the development of effective measures and reporting mechanisms.

• Support the development of a range of examiner training and professional development programmes and materials, and lead on the delivery of agreed aspects of the training programme.

• Support the development and review of new and existing examiner roles, remits and team structures.

What we’re looking for

You will need strong communication skills to enable you to influence others. You will need to be organised, with a clear commitment to customer service. Alongside having the ability to work as part of a team, you will maintain an independent perspective.

Qualifications

You will need a relevant professional qualification, e.g. a degree or equivalent post graduate qualification or experience.

Skills

You will need strong interpersonal and influencing skills, alongside excellent planning and organisational skills. You will have excellent oral and written communication skills and will be confident working with different teams and establishing relationships.

Experience

You will have experience in customer support, relationship building or similar communication or engagement services and will have supervised others. You’ll be a graduate and keen project manager with a proven ability to manage your workload when under pressure to meet multiple deadlines, and will enjoy contributing to the success of Cambridge International. An understanding of the Assessment Specialist role and/or experience working in an assessment organisation would be an advantage.
