We are looking for an Assistant Assessment Manager, with a keen interest in Primary and Lower Secondary Mathematics and Science and International assessment. The role involves supporting Assessment Managers (Mathematics and Science) working primarily on Cambridge Primary and Cambridge Lower Secondary Progression Tests in Mathematics and Science and potentially other client's bespoke qualifications.

As an excellent communicator with a positive can-do attitude, you will be flexibly working on a range of varied briefs, delivering high quality amendments to exam papers often at a fast pace, or working on projects to support International clients.

About the role 

The role would suit someone with a background in Mathematics and/or Science covering Primary and Lower Secondary education who has an interest in International assessments.

This supporting role will involve taking responsibility for key parts of the assessment production cycle including attending meetings, checking and proofreading assessment materials, as well as managing Assessment Specialists to ensure conformity to Cambridge Assessment International Education's standards.

Some of the key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Working with and supporting the Assessment Managers for Mathematics and Science to take responsibility for managing specified parts of the assessment materials production cycle, ensuring that the rigorous standards of the question paper production process are followed to ensure that they meet the needs of customers, Cambridge Assessment International Education's assessment standards and the Code of Practice.
  • To ensure that Progression Test papers for Stages 3 – 9 and key documentation are produced to the highest levels of quality, accuracy and cost effectiveness at all of the stages assigned to the post, following procedures and keeping to pre-established schedules.
  • To support with the appointment, allocation of work and performance of Setters, Revisers and Vetters, Item Writers, Chairs, Principal Examiners and other Assessment Specialists to ensure that assessments are produced in accordance with Cambridge Assessment International Education's standards.
  • To support with the use of our Content Creation Management System (CCMS) through the checking and revising of items authored in CCMS as part of the item banks.

About you

We are looking for you to have a degree in your subject, or a very closely related subject. Your standard of English will be very high, and knowledge of assessments in an education setting is key. You will have spent some time in the classroom as a teacher and may even have a knowledge of International education.

Qualifications, Essential

  • Educated to degree level in a mathematical or scientific subject, or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of or interest in Assessment within Education
  • High standard of English

  • Teaching qualification
  • Knowledge of International Education

Experience, Essential

  • Some teaching and/or assessment experience and/or project management experience and/or administrative experience preferably in an education context.

Experience, Desirable

  • Work in examination or educational administration
  • Primary and Lower Secondary education in Mathematics and or Science
  • Examining experience
  • Familiarity with item banking and or content creation platforms
  • Proofreading

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Positive ‘can do' attitude
