Assistant Director of Boarding

Saint Ignatius’ College Riverview was established in 1880 as a Catholic boys’ school in the Jesuit tradition. Located in Lane Cove, Sydney, Cammeraigal Country, this leading independent school delivers a holistic education to both day and boarding students from Years 5 to 12.

The College is home to approximately 300 full-time boarders across six boarding divisions which are organised by year levels.

We are currently seeking to appoint an exceptional and experienced leader to the full time leadership position of Assistant Director of Boarding, commencing Term 1, 2022.

The role of the Assistant Director of Boarding is to provide leadership support to the Director of Boarding and to lead a boarding division.  Currently this role is attached to the Year 7 Division.  This will change on rotation.

The Assistant Director of Boarding will :

• Have a commitment to Catholic education in the Jesuit tradition and a willingness to contribute to the life of the College
• Be an outstanding teacher who models excellence in the classroom and the Ignatian values of justice, service, discernment, conscience and courage
• Have a vision for 21st century education and boarding
• Act as the Director of Boarding in their absence
• Provide on call/overnight relief for the Director of Boarding one day per week
• Provide management and leadership (to the Pastoral Care Systems) of the College
• Mentor new Boarding staff in their role of Boarding Supervisor
• Have leadership experience within a boarding setting
