About the Role 

The successful applicant will have the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team to assist the Finance Officer and Business Manager with financial tasks to ensure the efficient running of the College. As a key member of the Finance team, the Finance Officer is responsible for all aspects of the purchasing and accounts payable functions of the College.

Essential Criteria 

  • Must hold a relevant Working with Children registration.
  • Will have completed relevant post-secondary training or have significant and substantial technical and procedural knowledge and skill which may be deemed comparable with a Diploma or Certificate IV with relevant work experience or a certificate III with relevant and extensive work experience, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Extensive skills and previous experience in a similar finance-related role with an extensive knowledge of accounts payable, bookkeeping, and general accounting. A previous role in a school environment and qualifications in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance will be well regarded.
  • A high level of computer literacy with an extensive understanding of accounting systems such as Compass and Technology One, knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • A strong customer service ethic with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure while maintaining a highly focused attention to detail.
  • The ability to work collaboratively and flexibly in a team environment to ensure financial management best practice.
  • Self-motivation, with the ability to work independently and show initiative.
  • Well-developed analytical skills and a creative approach to solving problems.
