Who we’re looking for:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Star Central Governance team, on a temporary basis until the return of the postholder, working as an Assistant Governance Officer. You will work closely with many key individuals at the heart of the governance process ensuring effective decision-making.

We are looking for an exceptional individual who is a forward thinker, can manage and prioritise competing demands, and work at pace.

Working closely with Principals, Chairs, and other Star Central officers, you will primarily support an efficient advice, Governor training, and meeting papers distribution service for our Local Governing Bodies. This is to ensure that Governors receive timely, accurate, well-presented information that enables them to make effective decisions and provide key scrutiny to the schools they serve.

This vacancy is an excellent opportunity for or someone who wishes to expand their previous relevant administrative experience in the academy governance sector. ​​​​​​​




You will have:


 

  • 5 GCSE's (incl. Maths and English Grade C or above). 
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Proficient in editing documents with the ability to correct spelling, punctuation and grammatical errors and ensure good formatting and presentation. 
  • The ability to manage your own workload effectively. 
  • An awareness of the challenges involved in working in an academy/corporate governance setting and the need to maintain strict confidentiality in all matters.
