Assistant Head of Provision

This is an opportunity to join a team committed to working with some of the most vulnerable schoolchildren in Croydon, within one of the secondary Pupil Referral Unit’s four provisions.   If you are ready to translate high expectations and quality support for learning into daily practice, this could be your next career move.

Role purpose and role dimensions:

• Supporting the Head of Provision in a leadership and management role 

• Deputise for the Head of Provision in his /her absence

• Teach up to 50% timetable.

Terms:

• Leadership Scale L5-9


A successful candidate will be a consistently Good/Outstanding teacher with some management experience, and evidence of working with young people with complex needs and challenging behaviour, demonstrating trauma informed practice.

Saffron Valley Collegiate comprises of 5 provisions who educate young people from across the Borough of Croydon

They are:

  • KS3 : KS3 pupils who have been excluded or at risk of exclusion
  • KS4 South: KS4 pupils who have been excluded or at risk of exclusion
  • KS4 North: KS4 pupils who have been excluded or at risk of exclusion
  • Cotelands: school girl mothers and KS 3 and 4 emotionally based school refusers
  • Springboard: a tuition service providing for pupils with medical needs
