We are seeking to appoint two Assistant Head Teachers for KS1 and KS2 to join our Senior Leadership Team at Goose Green Primary School. Goose Green is a large inner city, multicultural, two-form entry primary and nursery school located in East Dulwich with fantastic transport links and supportive parents. Having the attractions of London on our doorstep gives great opportunities to enrich our curriculum and the experiences of our children.

The school has recently joined Communitas Education Trust and this is a very exciting time as the Trust continues to expand, with development opportunities to combine both teaching commitment and leadership responsibilities.  These are class based roles with time out of class to complete leadership roles and deputise when necessary.  The roles would suit creative and ambitious individuals who have a proven track record of delivering sustained change in a middle or senior leadership role and have evidence of outstanding classroom practice and determination to raise standards.

Specific responsibilities will be determined on appointment but applications from candidates who can offer strengths in some of the following areas will be welcomed:

· Assessment to include reporting and recording of pupil progress

· High level of computer literacy and ability to analyse educational data

· Experience of the new national curriculum KS1 and  KS2 SATS requirements

· Staff professional development and the appraisal process

· Progress of disadvantaged pupils

In return, for the right candidates we can offer fantastic opportunities for leadership learning and professional development within the wider scope of the Trust.

Please read through the Job Description and Person Specification and complete your application on line at www.goosegreenprimaryschool.org/vacancies

Visits to the school and informal talks with the Head Teacher, Simon Wattam, are welcome.

Goose Green Primary and Nursery School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful candidates will be required to undertake an enhanced check by the Disclosure and Barring Service.
